A:Our pegboard hooks are made for the two patterns used in most retail fittings: 1/4-inch (6.35 mm) holes on 1-inch (25 mm) centers, and 5/16-inch (8 mm) holes on 1-inch centers. Clip-on shelf dividers fit steel shelves 0.8–1.5 mm thick with a front lip of 8 mm or more.
1/4 in. / 1 in.US-style pegboard
5/16 in. / 1 in.Heavy Euro hooks
0.8–1.5 mmSteel shelf thickness
Check these four things before you order
- 1/4-inch / 1-inch pattern — US-style pegboard and most slatwall inserts.
- 5/16-inch / 1-inch pattern — heavier Euro hooks, baskets, and shelf brackets.
- Wire shelves — these need saddle clips; standard flat-shelf clips will not fit.
- Glass or wood shelves — adhesive or clamp bases only, no clip fixing.
How to measure pitch correctly
Photograph a ruler laid across ten holes, then divide that distance by ten to get the true pitch. Do the same across the shelf front edge for thickness and lip depth. Pitch is easy to misjudge by eye, and getting it wrong means a whole order of hooks that hang loose.
