Q: Which material is best: ABS, PET or PVC for shelf pushers?

A: PET is the most cost-effective for general use, ABS offers the highest durability and rigidity, while PVC is rarely recommended due to environmental and durability concerns.

The three materials have obvious differences in performance, environmental protection and applicable scenarios, and VIGO DISPLAY selects materials strictly based on retail use scenarios and international environmental compliance standards. PET (polyethylene terephthalate) has high transparency, is odorless and non-toxic, meets food contact safety standards, and has moderate cost. It is the standard material for most retail display scenarios, and is widely used in cosmetics, food and daily necessities display areas. Its disadvantage is slightly lower impact resistance than ABS, and it is not recommended for heavy load and ultra-low temperature scenarios.
ABS material has high rigidity, strong impact resistance, excellent low-temperature resistance, and is not easy to become brittle and crack in low-temperature environments. It is the preferred material for heavy-duty pushers and cold chain dedicated pushers, suitable for carrying heavy products such as large bottled beverages, and can be used stably in freezer environments as low as -20°C. Its cost is higher than PET, and it is generally used in medium and high-end configurations.
PVC material has poor aging resistance, is easy to become brittle after long-term use, and contains harmful additives such as plasticizers, which does not meet EU RoHS and REACH environmental protection standards, and has potential safety risks in food contact scenarios.
